According to SB Nation's Chris Dobbertean, the Baylor Bears men's basketball team, who were previously considered to be a lock as a No. 2 seed in the NCAA tournament, have fallen to a No. 3 seed after back-to-back losses to the Kansas Jayhawks and the Missouri Tigers.
Former top seed Baylor drops all the way down to a No. 3 this week after back-to-back losses to Kansas and Missouri. While those are the only two teams to defeat the Bears this week, and their computer numbers are still strong (RPI: 6, SOS: 11), Baylor's best RPI win is over San Diego State, who just cracks the Top 20. Every team on the top two lines, save Syracuse, has a victory over a team in the top 5, and the Bears don't have a one-loss record to fall back on.
The Bears, as a No. 3 seed, are predicted to face off against the Akron Zips (18-7, 10-1 MAC) in the first round, and if they get past that round, they would play the winner between BYU Cougars and the Creighton Bluejays.
Baylor has six games left, none of which are against ranked opponents, and can still improve their standings when it comes to their seed in the tournament if they finish the regular season strong.
