The first-ever FBS national championship could be played in Dallas.
The location for the 2014 FBS national title game has yet to be determined, but there is talk that the first-ever title game in the new FBS playoff could be awarded to Dallas. If Dallas is chosen, the location would be Cowboys Stadium, but there is still competition form Miami, Houston, Atlanta, New Orleans and Orlando.
Out of those cities, Dallas is reportedly the favorite, according to sources that have told CBSSports.com:
Dallas is at least garnering "significant interest" as host, according to sources. At most, one source said, it's only a matter of time until Dallas closes the deal.
BCS executive director Bill Hancock said the site could be selected in the coming months but that it's too early to declare a favorite.
"We haven't begun negotiating with anybody, so it's not fair to say there's a leader in the clubhouse," Hancock said.
The palace that is also known as Jerry World is the best stadium, plus with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones behind this bid, there is a lot of money that he can put toward this event.
Venue and money is not the only issue at hand. A city must have the proper amenities, including hotels and restaurants, to host a game of this magnitude. Cowboys Stadium just recently hosted a Super Bowl back in 2011, so the area is capable of hosting a big game.
