Andy Reid hasn't talked about job status with owner

Eric Hartline-US PRESSWIRE

After another loss to the Carolina Panthers this past week, Andy Reid said he hasn't spoken with owner Jeffrey Lurie about his job.

A seventh-straight loss by the Philadelphia Eagles this past week has put even more pressure on both coach Andy Reid and owner Jeffrey Lurie. Despite raising the expectations before the start of the season and assuring changes if they were not met, Lurie hasn't spoken to Reid about his job status.

"We haven't talked about that," Reid said in his postgame press conference. "He's been supportive. Obviously, he's as competitive as anybody. He wants to win games. That's why he's in this business. But we really haven't gone there."

While fans might want to see Reid go as soon as possible, there is a possibility that Lurie will allow Reid to finish out the season.

The Eagles, however, haven't exactly helped their coach with their play on the field, and injuries in recent weeks have hampered the team. Quarterback Michael Vick missed his second consecutive game this past Sunday, running back LeSean McCoy sat out with a concussion and the offensive line has been riddled with injuries all season.

At 3-8 with five games remaining, Philadelphia has the chance to salvage its season and at the very least, play spoiler in the NFC East with games against the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins and New York Giants.
