Despite a 2-3 overall record, the SMU Mustangs are tied for second place in the Conference USA West division, with a 1-0 in-conference record.
Despite a 2-3 overall record, the SMU Mustangs are tied for second place in the Conference USA West division, with a 1-0 in-conference record.
The Mustangs improved to 1-0 in Conference USA play on Saturday, with their 17-0 win over the UTEP Miners. SMU had been riding a two-game losing streak coming into Saturday's contest, losing to Texas A&M and TCU in consecutive weeks.
SMU's non-conference schedule is over, however, and the Mustangs will now look to climb the Conference USA West's standings. SMU is currently tied with Houston for second place at 1-0, trailing the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, who lead the division with a 3-0 in-conference record.
The Mustangs will take on the Tulane Green Wave this coming Saturday, as SMU looks to move to 2-0 in conference play.
