Texas looks to keep up with the Big 12 pack, while Baylor and TCU look to improve on their disappointing records.
Coming off consecutive wins against Baylor and Kansas, Texas faces interstate rival Texas Tech to try to keep pace with the heavy hitters in the Big 12. With both teams ranked in the Top 25, the winner will likely stay relevant in the BCS bowl picture while the loser will be relegated to a less-prestigious postseason affair.
TCU's first season in the Big 12 has been a disappointment thus far, as they carry a 2-3 conference record into West Virginia to face a Mountaineers team that is just above them in the standings. However, with a win the Horned Frogs can pad their 5-3 record and start thinking about bowl season.
Residing in second place in the West division of Conference USA, SMU takes on the first place team in the East in Central Florida, who is undefeated in conference play.
