Cuban says Dallas will not rush into decision
Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban told reporters on Friday that the team has not made a decision regarding suspended guard Delonte West returning to the team. This refutes an earlier report that the Mavericks were exploring waiving or buying out West, who has been suspended twice in the past two weeks.
Cuban was quoted as saying:
"I'll make the decision. No decision has been made, but we're also not in any rush to make a decision."
West's first suspension came October 15th, but lasted less than a day. West was suspended again October 25th, with an official reason of "conduct detrimental to the team." No explanation has been given by the Mavericks, but West has stated that the most recent suspension stems from a locker room argument after Wednesday's exhibition loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
West, who has been diagnosed with bi-polar disorder, has also stated via Twitter than the incidents leading to his suspensions are unrelated to the disorder.
