TCU vs. Baylor 2012: Nick Florence's 4 INTs doom Bears in 49-21 loss to Frogs

Baylor quarterback Nick Florence has had better games than his four-interception performance against TCU in the Bears' 49-21 loss Saturday.

Turnovers were a huge factor in the outcome, and despite a -6 mark in the takeaways column, Baylor was within a touchdown at the end of the third quarter.

TCU rattled off 21 unanswered points in the victory, not leaving Bears fans with a strong sense of optimism. Our Daily Bears, SB Nation's Baylor site, lists the play of wide receiver Terrance Williams (three catches, 163 yards and two touchdowns) as perhaps the only positive in the loss.

If we're starting with positives, the list basically starts and ends with Terrance Williams (Terrence Williams to our system for whatever reason). He may not have Kendall Wright's longevity in the program (and the resulting statistics), but I'm coming around to the idea that he is the most complete receiver in Baylor history.

The Bears rushed for a mediocre 3.3 yards per carry -- 106 yards on 32 rushes -- leading to some questions about running back Jarred Salubi's role as the team's primary back on first and second downs.

The "Feature Back Jarred Salubi" experiment needs to end. I don't see why we're playing out the string on it any more than we have to. Yes, he's the best pass blocker and it has served us well on third downs. It could again. He's not the best option on first and second, and that's where our biggest offensive problems were in this game. We tried and failed to establish the run on first down, mostly through Salubi.

Baylor travels to Austin on Oct. 20 to face Texas.
