The Dallas Mavericks grabbed that elusive first road victory of the season with a 100-86 victory over the Detroit Pistons at The Palace of Auburn Hills. The win also evens the Mavs overall record at 5-5 this season.
Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavericks with 18 points and seven rebounds in the game. Dirk hit nine of his ten shots from the field in just 28 minutes of action. Dallas built a big second half lead and it enabled Rick Carlisle to go deep into the bench where 12 of the 13 Mavericks players suited for the game scored.
Shawn Marion added 14 points and Vince Carter 11 for the Mavericks. Ian Mahinmi scored 10 points off the bench to round out Dallas players in double figures.
Will Bynum scored a game-high 20 points for the Pistons who fell to 2-8 on the season. Brandon Knight scored 12 points while Ben Gordon added 11. Dallas took advantage of 21 Pistons turnovers scoring 24 points off of the miscues.

The Dallas Mavericks jumped out early and carry a commanding 52-38 lead into halftime over the Detroit Pistons. The Mavericks are looking for their first road win of the season.
Dallas jumped out to a 23-8 lead on near perfect shooting from its starting lineup. Dirk Nowitzki leads all scorers with 12 points and made all six of his attempts in the first half. The Mavs were red hot in the first half as they hit more than 63 percent of their shots. Vince Carter hit three three-pointers in the first half for nine points and Shawn Marion finished with eight.
Rookie point guard Brandon Knight leads the Pistons with nine points at the intermission. Will Bynum chipped in eight points off the bench while Ben Gordon added seven for Detroit. Dallas held the Pistons to just 36 percent shooting and forced the Pistons into 10 turnovers.
