Rudy Fernandez Signs With Real Madrid

Real Madrid has officially signed Mavericks' guard Rudy Fernandez. Fernandez was acquired in a draft day deal that saw former Longhorn Jordan Hamilton sent to the Denver Nuggets.

Contrary to earlier reports, this does not effect Fernandez's status with the Dallas Mavericks this upcoming season. Whenever that may be. Fernandez will simply play overseas until the lockout ends. However, there is an option for Fernandez to return to Madrid at the end of his contract with the Dallas Mavericks.

But we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

For now, the Dallas Mavericks are still NBA champions.
