According to Alex Kennedy, Rick Carlisle will start JJ Barea tonight in place of Deshawn Stevenson.
Barea played a part in the Mavericks’ third quarter comeback and I assume Carlisle liked what he saw if he is indeed starting him tonight. This will hurt the Mavericks defensively as Stevenson is the far superior defender but it looks like Carlisle is gambling that Barea makes up for it by getting the Mavericks’ offense out to a hot start for the first time in this series.
