The Dallas White Rock Marathon, scheduled for Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m. will be wet, cold and windy, with more rain and temperatures in the 40's forecast.

It's going to be rainy and cold Sunday morning in Dallas, but the White Rock Marathon will be held as planned, according to organizers. The Weather.com forecast for 8:00 a.m. is for 48 degrees and rain, with the rain continuing and temperatures only getting colder throughout the day. After a rainy Saturday, the track should be soggy. A brisk breeze around 15 mph is also expected at the start, so observers will want to dress warm and bring something to keep them dry. You can check the race website for the latest weather updates on race day.

About 25,000 runners - 6,000 for the full marathon - are scheduled to take part in the race, Dallas' biggest. WFAA (Channel 8) will show the full marathon portion of the event with coverage from 8:00 to 11:00. The marathon has been held since 1971 and benefits Texas Scottish Rite Hospital.

Last year's winner was James Kirwa with a time of 2:18:37. Kirwa was the fifth straight Kenyan to win the event. The last American to win was Ernie Caballero in 2002. American Camille Herron was the female winner last year with a time of 2:42:32.
