The Texas Longhorns finish their two-step with their neighbors to the north of the Red River 0-2 and out of the AP's latest Top 25 poll that was released this Sunday. The Oklahoma State Cowboys handed the Longhorns their second consecutive defeat in a 38-26 loss in Austin.
Baylor's annual duel between Texas A&M, known as The Battle of the Brazos, didn't end well as the Aggies hung 55 points on the pervious Bears defense. Career days by Ryan Tannehill (6 passing TD's) and Ryan Swope (206 receiving yards, coupled with Jeff Fuller becoming A&M's all-time leading receiver (2,615 yards) were too much for Art Briles' squad out of Waco.
Oklahoma and Oklahoma State stayed put in the rankings, while Kansas State (No. 12) and Texas A&M (No. 17) rose this week.

The Big 12's power in both the AP Top 25 and the USA Today Coaches Poll is now undoubtedly seated in Oklahoma. The Sooners' easy work of Texas in Saturdays' Red River Rivalry and Oklahoma State's 70-point explosion against Kansas have the two schools set for a potential Top 5 match-up when Bedlam hits in November.
The Sooners strengthened their top spot in the Coaches Poll with an additional five first place votes over LSU and Alabama, but trail both teams in the AP. The Cowboys held strong at sixth in the AP and seventh in the Coaches, amid the mix of "second tier" undefeated teams - Stanford, Boise State, Clemson and Wisconsin - outside of the Oklahoma/LSU/Alabama debate
Just about everything else in the Big 12, especially Texas, is now an afterthought: The Longhorns tumbled to from 11th to 22nd in the AP and 10th to 21st in the Coaches. If UT can't beat Oklahoma State this Saturday, they'll likely be unranked for the first time this year.
Baylor and Texas A&M both rebounded from losses this week, and hung onto positions in both polls. The Bears finished 20th in the AP and 24th in the Coaches, while the Aggies are 21st in the AP and 23rd in the Coaches.
