According to T.R. Sullivan, and other sources on Twitter, the Rangers have signed Mark Prior to a minor league contract.
↵Obviously, this move was made with an eye toward 2011 and beyond as Prior has been trying to make a comeback while pitching in the independent Golden Baseball League.
↵You can read about Prior’s comeback story here.
↵This is definitely an intriguing move as Prior has all of the talent in the world. Obviously, the question mark is his health. The odds are that he’ll never pitch a game as a Ranger but since the risk is nonexistent, the rewards could be huge if Prior has found a way to keep himself healthy.
