Live-blogging the DFW sports scene
The Yankees just beat the A’s 5-0, making the Rangers’ division lead 10 games. This is only the second time in the entire history of the franchise the Rangers have had a division lead this large. If the Rangers win or the A’s lose tomorrow, it will surpass the 29 hour and 34 minute record for holding a 10 game lead; if both happen, it would stand alone as the biggest lead in franchise history.
Despite set backs, the march towards perhaps the most memorable Rangers season ever continues. With all due respect to Evan Grant, I say feel free to be comfortable. Worry about the playoffs, even worry about home field advantage, just don’t bother worrying about the division. There’s less than a 2% chance of the Rangers not playing in October. Even injuries to Josh Hamilton or the bullpen, or a Cliff Lee collapse, or a tough schedule, or a lack of “urgency” almost certainly will not keep it from happening.
And I’m not going out on a limb.

Yeah
I am about as conservative as there is when it comes to assuming anything in the standings, and I’ve stopped worrying about the division. The feeling is the slightest bit empty right now because the team have played .500 ball for a couple of months, but that doesn’t change the near fact that they’re going to the playoffs.

Right, the one we're all watching now is home field
Slaughtering the Twins this weekend would send us all into la la land.
