Dez Bryant Continues To Make Plays Early In Camp

Sure, Dallas Cowboys rookie wide receiver probably did himself no favors by refusing to carry the pads of veteran WR Roy Williams after practice – which of course is traidition for rookies to have to do leaguewide – the former Oklahoma State standout continues to impress on the field.

On Monday, Bryant made another sensational play which was described this afternoon on ESPN’s Dallas blog:

Bryant got a step on Mike Jenkins while running a stutter-go during 1-on-1

drills, which is an impressive feat in itself. Then Bryant came back to snare an underthrown pass from Matt Nichols, making a leaping catch and falling into the end zone for a 45-yard touchdown.

Dez Bryant Saying, Doing All The Right Things

The big news of the day in the National Football League was Dez Bryant becoming the first rookie drafted in the first round of this year’s draft to sign his rookie contract. The terms of the deal are reportedly five-years for $11.8 million, $8.5 of which is guaranteed.

Bryant explained why he was so eager to get the deal hammered out sooner rather than later:

“This was very important to me to be able to get this done in time for the first practice,” Bryant said in comments distributed by the team. “I want to help this team. I want to compete. I can’t wait to start playing football again.”

Got to love it. The Cowboys may just be sporting one of the best wide receiver corps in all of football this fall.

Dez Bryant Becomes First 2010 First Round Draft Pick To Sign

So much for their being any sort of stalemate in the negotiations between the Dallas Cowboys and their first-round draft pick from this past April, Dez Bryant. The Cowboys and Bryant agreed to terms on Thursday, making Bryant the very first rookie drafted in the first round to ink a rookie deal. With the Cowboys set to open camp earlier than any other team in the NFL, the organization veered away from its usual policy of basing their rookie deals off of the other teams' signings. As of now, the only confirmation we have of the signing is a recent tweet by Jason La Canfora who had this to say:

Cowboys announce they've agreed to terms with Dez Bryant, the first first round pick from the 2010 draft to sign.

Stay tuned for more information on the terms of the deal and if it's in fact accurate, both here and at Blogging The Boys.
